There is a river nearby (mentioned this in the first post) so water is, available for drinking but not convenient for many people. Also its a fairly "well traveled" river, ground water (ie from a well) is certainly cleaner and better tasting, when it isn't poisoned.

You head to the temple, basically following a ways behind the priests returning from the well. The temple is a nice stone structure with many statues of St. Misipi and his many saintly deeds, which apparently include fishing while walking on water and battling tentacles. You enter through the main entrance and see more statues and paintings of saints doing good deeds. The Priests seem to be having a solemn discussion, which stops as you enter. The apparent leader of the priest motions to a more plainly dressed priest, who then walks over to you.

"May we help you?" he asks kindly. He certainly notes your heritage, but as you haven't burst into painful flames on the sacred ground of the church you probably can't be all that bad. The other priests resume their discussion, albeit a little quieter.
