I sat there thinking of what to pack and how fun this trip would be. But then a thought interjected itself. "Umm . . .dad?"
"Yeah sport?"
"Ya'know how your a fan of mystical happenings, aliens and uh stuff like that?"
"No I guess I do now though." Now he was trying to be funny.
"Well uh. . . .something. . . .something happened." My dad stopped strumming in the middle of a song and just stared at me. He wanted to hear more. "See I was up in the attic and uh. . . I happened to lean my head back and I. . . I saw something."
"Saw what exactly?"
"I think I saw. . . I mean I think I felt . . ." I tried to breath but I spit it out at once hoping it would help. "ItfeltlikeIwasdying."
"Huh?" I took a breath and said it again slower.
"I said it felt. . .like I was dying. . .droowning more like it."
For the first time in my dad's life, or that I knew of. . .he was speechless.
