Default A Tale to Be Told...

((Okay, I have had a vision of this great quest for some time now, but I have never truly found the people to rise to the quest. This is a quest proposal from me to those who would be interested. I am hosting a game with no more than 4 people aside from me and my Druid (Who is described below). This is a long quest, a campaign that might be enough to make a book out of, so this is a long-term thing. I don't want any droppers half-way through the campaign, you know? After hearing what i have to say, I'll let the druid take it from here, if you want to be at the firepit when this happens, PM me your character sheet, and I will respond with approval or... denial of the character, with reasons for either one, and a small quest description for those I approve. Sound good to the mods?)) - An Aspiring DM

Seeking adventurers, a lonely man in drab orange robes steps out of the wood and begins to tell a ballad...
"I'll tell you a tale if you'll lend me your ears. Its a story of brave men who lived without fears. Men who had honor, faith, and good name. Men who were lost did not die in vain. They saved a castle, a king, and the kings newborn son. But still this tall tale has barely begun. Do you wish to hear more of this Tale?"
He sits on the ground and snaps to get the attention of those who were listening. He blows into his hands and onto the leaves, and "BAM!" fire. "Sit if you would hear it, for I am a part of this tale. It is true, for I have seen it in the future, and you my friends..." He spoke out to the people, "Will be the ones I write it about."

Gauldomesh steps from the trees, staying just out of the circle of light produced by the small but warming fire.

Its hard to make out any of his features below the dark traveller's cloak wrapped tight against the chill of the night, but a slow bow to the druid is a sure sign he is listening.

Ven walks forward into the light, hands hidden within volumous sleeves, eyes reflecting a blazing yellow in the fire light. "if that is true, the I would definitely like to hear this" he replies in a gravelly, somewhat unnerving, voice.

Alzgor walks in everyone shocked at the sight of a demon, his hooves click on his way close to the fire. And with a booming voice speaks "Let it be told then for demons beware the fallen!"

(OOC Time's up. Game on!.)

He haunched up into a squat, looking at a seed in his hand. "Well, our tale begins here... right at this very campfire... with the faces of the men who we see here. As I plant this seed, so shall their fates be sealed to the tale. Are you willing to accept a fate sealed to the life of this Ironwood seed?" He slowly looked about the campfire. "Very well."He poked a hole in the dirt and placed the seed, slowly covering it in the dirt... and the seed began to sprout...

The travellers suddenly find themselves on a lonely road, surrounded on both sides by a dark and scary forest. The rain falls in sheets upon the adventurers, and on the ground is marked with children's footprints going off into the darkness. It is the middle of the night, and by the light of the druid's torch, you can make out a small hut, almost like a shop, off in the distance.

Ven looks at the rain contemptously.
"Lets at least get out of this drizzle, i've little desire to get damp." He hisses. He motions towards the Hut, but waits for the others to move before heading towards it.

Okay guys... I found my books.

You each have 90000 xps, translating to:
Ven, you're a level 7/6 Thief/Mage.
Gauldomesh, you're a level 6/6 Cleric/Ranger.
Alzgor, you're a level 8 Paladin.

You each have a number of skill slots, and can use whatever character generator you were using to find proficiencies. They all have the proficiency lists. These are the proficiency amounts and my guess on the placing that they would have (Skills are listed as "Skill" (Check amount):
Ven has 3 WP to spend, and 5 NWP to spend. I assume Ven will have WP: Dagger, WP: Dart, and WP: Quarterstaff (in case he finds a mage-staff suited for him. He will also have the following skills:
Brewing (INT),
Astrology (INT),
Languages, Ancient (INT),
Reading/Writing (INT+1).
Gauldomesh has 6 WP to spend (2 in any one thing makes you specialized), and 6 NWP to spend. I assume Gauldomesh will have WS: Mace, WS: Longbow, WS: Long Sowrd. He will also have the following skills:
Blind-fighting,
Set Snares (DEX),
Religion (WIS),
Reading/Writing (INT+1),
Direction Sense (WIS+1)
Alzgor has 6 WP to spend (2 in any one thing makes you specialized), and 5 NWP to spend. I assume Alzgor will have WS: Long Sword, WS: War Hammer, WS: Long Bow. He will also have the following skills:
Blind-fighting,
Etiquette (CHA),
Carpentry (STR),
Riding, Land-based (WIS+3)
He also has a holy steed, which is not the average steed. He has a Nightmare, but it, much like him, will not regain its unholy powers until 12th level, and then they'll slowly come back, mixed with his holy abilities.

For not having proficiency in a weapon:
Ven gets -3 "to hit"
Gauldomesh gets -2 "to hit"
Alzgor gets -2 "to hit"

Secondary skills... sorry guys, I have to change it for the sake of fairness all-around, including to the monsters...
Ven is a Gambler: He gets knowledge of gambling games, increased chances of winning at them, he also can make attempts to calculate the probability of success or failure in any situation at hand.
Gauldomesh is a Fisher: He gets knowledge of swimming, nets, and small boat handling. He also can use nets as a ranged or melee weapon in order to trap his foes.
Alzgor is a Blacksmith: He can make an Intelligence check to make, repair, and evaluate weapons and armor.

Does that sound good to you guys?

Gauldomesh studies the ground, guessing by the size of foot and length of pace how much of a hurry the children were in.

(PS: If I'm a fisherman and snare-hunter I want to be able to repair nets and make my own rope)

(OOC: sounds pretty good, Can i use brewing to make exploding poitons and such or just "spell" potions? And gambler fits in many ways....And as long as the Lord of Chaos and Magic isn't horrendously evil, consider his offer taken. Also, since you found your books; how many "skill points" per level do theives get for their theify stuff, mine are still sitting at level 1 )

(OOC He would have the following base scores...
Pick Pockets 25%
Open Locks 15%
Find/Remove Traps 10%
Move Silently 30%
Hie in Shadows 25%
Detect Noise 20%
Climb Walls 55%
Read Languages 25%

At first level, he has 60 points to spend... every level after that has 30 points. You may not spend more than 30 points per level on a given thing. You have a total of 240 points.
