Default character sheets.

okay, so, a few people are wanting to see an example character. so i'm going to post one. i'm using the numbers i rolled for you guys and everything.

Name: Blackjack member
Race: human (though they're not the only members)
Class: Rogue

STR: 15
DEX: 16
CON: 15
INT: 6
WIS: 12
CHA: 13
HP: 11 [1d8 rogue, + 2 (CON), +3 (Toughness feat)]
AC: 14 [10 + 3 (DEX) +1 (Padded Armour)]

Equipment: Padded Armour, Uniform black jacket, "Blackjack" (exotic small weapon, 1d6+str physical & 1d6+dex subdual, crit 20x2)
at higher levels they might get leather armour, but nothing with an armour check penalty, since they're still thieves.

Heirloom: none. they're not a player character, they don't get an heirloom.

Racial & Class Features: Bonus Human Feat, Bonus Human Skill, Sneak Attack +1d6

Skills: Intimidate, Listen, Bluff, Move Silently, Gather Information, Sense Motive, Profession (security)
since they're below average intelligence they get less skills, but as you can see all those skills suit their job. especially the profession. i'll point out if you have a profession skill or a craft skill it may come in handy, let alone the realism

Feats: Alertness, Toughness. As it is a specialized form of the rogue class, they do not have open locks and pick pockets as class skills, but instead gain proficiency in the Blackjack, so I wouldn't have to spend points on it. It is also the only weapon they're good with. At higher levels they would gain feats like Run, Improved Initiative, Weapon Focus, Endurance, or even fast talking, looting, observation and trailing (even though the last four are non-weapon proficiencies from AD&D). I will point out that Blackjacks higher than level 3 have one or two levels of fighter to cash in on the bonus feats.
The leader of the Blackjacks, an ugly brute of a man who earned his respect in the fighting pits, has at least four levels of fighter just to gain access to Weapon Specialization with the blackjack, not to mention a few more levels of Toughness. (hes a nasty bugger don't go looking for him)

so, Fei, Arctic, and DC, you've all asked for special help in creating your characters. not a problem, but i need more than what you've given me so far. (though you're all at different stages i figure doing it here might answer a few questions at once)

So, to start with i nede your character's name, race, and class. now, for class you don;t have to specifically state 'fighter' or 'cleric' or whatever, but try and describe your character in one or two words. like, say you don't just want your character to be a 'rogue', you want to be an assassin. or, your not just a cleric, your the "Battle Mage of Drak'Na'Thuul, immortal Frost Lich". whatever, get as creative as you want.

if you want another example, Cain posted his character in the speak here thread (i think) and hes well on his way to having his character ready. again, i must warn you that cain's a little weird, so don't think your character has to look like his. (hehe no offense cain, takes one to know one). he went a different route, wanted to be a druid of an evil god of some sorts. thats cool, hes a bloodthirsty little bugger at the best of times, if he makes his character as such, i have an excuse for sending a horde of goblins at him.

and i will state again that anyone wants to go crazy is more than welcome to, i'll feel more comfortable with more of my own kind around. bwaaaahahhahahahahha (thats my evil laugh)

Description: Ven is a medium height brown haired tiefling, he has hazel cat eyes and small brown horns that stick out of the top of his head. He also has a tail, but it is virtually always hidden beneath his robes. He has a gravelly voice, and a ambiguos manner. He does not mind his heritage, though he finds it annoying that in such a Xenophobic world he doesn’t really fit in anywhere, so he usually downplays his less human features, quite often wearing his hood. He has a neutral view on things, good and evil are choices made by others, though he does oppose needless cruelty. As such he doesn’t much like demons, and hopes to some day use them as pawns in the most sacrificial way possible. He also tends to show kindness to young women, since they remind him of his mother. He does not reveal much about how demon blood got into his family line, wether he is a first generation tiefling, or comes from a line of them is unknown, and not open for discussion.
In regards to his magic, Ven has little use for magic that doesn’t destroy things, summon things, or protect him (this being perhaps of less importance). He planes to develop his talent to the point that he can begin to travel the planes, and let chaos take him where it will.
In fights, Ven tries to let others do the real work, while he figures out the most destructive way to use his magic. He avoids using any weapon but his garrotte, except in massive emergencies, seeing it as not his job to be hitting people and such. Thus he usually attaches himself to a group of people, or at least one decent meat sheild, and would gladly join any guild to lend a little fire and lightning where needed.
He is friendly enough, though somewhat detachted from the world. He knows a lot, but keeps it mostly to himself, he treasures chaos, and needs no reason to do anything, just the abilty. Why is he in the bog, what is his goal, he doesn’t tell, nor does he likely know or care.

nice. so, uhh, ignore that PM i sent you. hehehehe.

okay, so, your heirloom weapon is easy enough. first off it invokes death knell every time it kills. every creature killed stacks, though the odds of a sorceror getting that deeply involved in fighting isn't high (since sorcerors don't live long in melee situations). and, i'll go with non-lethal meaning subdual. so, if you didn't read subdual damage, or in case someone else hasn't i'll go over it.

lets say mr orc has 14 HPs. you get your garotte around his neck, inflict 2d4+str damage the first round. lets say you get 7, add str. so, he's still got all his hitpoints, but has 8 points of subdual damage. now, second round, grapple checks apply to see if you lose your hold, or if you've still got it around his neck. grapple check succeeds, roll damage. you roll 3, add str, and add the +1 modifier from having the hold a full round already. not enough to bring him all the way, but it brings him within one point. fred the fighter does 6 damage with his sword, which brings the orc to 8 hitpoints. but, since he's got more subdual damage than he does hitpoints, he passes out from the pain. next round, no grapple check, and since mr orc is unconscious the damage becomes lethal, or physical. roll 5, add str, and add the +2 modifier for two whole rounds. its enough to kill the orc, and you get your death knell bonus, you have +2 str a few temporary hitpoints and a casting bonus for the next ten minutes.

if you didn't follow that, its not my fault. just remember, as soon as the cumulation of subdual damage is greater than current hit points, creature goes unconscious. and i'll warn you that anything that doesn't breathe or you cannot reach the neck of will pose a problem . . . later that is.

sorry about getting so technical but i actually trained with a garotte once, so i know how difficult they are to use. then again i used a special kind, which was a form of slipknot that doesn't loosen and has to be cut. it was freaky stuff, i stopped training under that master i didn't want to know what he used to do for a living.

yeah, non-leathal mean subdual in 3.5e, i guess too many people didn't know what subdual meant.

anything that doesn't breath will find its self facing a tiny whip instead of a garrotte...

Strength 13
Dexterity 16

Flurry of Blows: Monks have the ability to get an extra swing in when using the full-attack action. there's a -2 to hit penalty
Stunning Blow: this one lets you channel your energy into a single blow to stun the enemy for a round. you can use it once per level per day. call it before your attack, if you miss it still coutns as a use of the skill

Feats:
Multi Attack
Blind Fight

Hierloom: Necklace...two wings and a fang on a leather strap...Nubz has the specs.

Rath kinda sorta left his little snake nest cause he had a different view of how things should go. Lets just say he got enlightened and was disgusted by his races carnal and goreuos behaviours. Abondoning his heritage he isolates himself and focuses his time on refining his concept of right and wrong. Though it is in his races nature to do thing in own way and so continues his chaotic means in his pursuit of righteousness. Yes there is order to chaos and there is a black and right.
Having a tendansy to just sit back and plan rather than blindly rush in Rath cares for finese and skill over brute power and force. Theres more than one way to crush ones opponent and Rath knows this for he uses all means to bind those in his coils.
In regecting his poeple he also abandoned his name of Rath and took on a more appropiate to his new life, Scales.

(((Just putting this up, I think its finalized, Nubz worked out the specs so I hope I got it set right.))
