Gary Gygax is Dead at Age 69
One of the creators of Dungeons and Dragons is dead at age 69. It is a sad day for all geekdom everywhere.

Tis truly sad, 69 is seeming younger (okay, less incredibly old) all the time, and far too young to die at 
But he definitely left a legacy. Without out him we'd just be "Keepers Domain" and thats just silly.

Oh damn, that is sad. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since I was a freshman...that's only about four years, but still.
From this day forth, every time I roll a d20, whether I make my save or not (even if I'm not actually playing D&D), I will think of Gary.

I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons since it was introduced in 1974. Then it was just "Dungeons and Dragons". My books were called "Men & Magic". I even played the original Arduin Adventures.
Man that brings back memories.

Its kinda silly for me, but i found out today that in a small way i was at the runeral. I also use the Larrin alias at the enworld.org D&D forums, and they sent a poster (in lieu of flowers) to his funeral with all the names of posters there with 10 or more posts (its a big download http://www.enworld.org/images/roster.pdf, i'm 6th row from the bottom, 6th name from the end of the row)
It was really neat find that out....bah why am i crying....
