Cain has a new forum idea!
Ok, everyone so our dear dear Cain has a forum idea that he had presented to us once before, however, it was not chosen at the time to be added onto the site. Now, he has requested it once more and Tarsha and I want to know what you think about it. So....DISCUSS!
************************************************** ******
Forum Name: The World of Elona
Forum description: A vast world where magic thrives. Many nations await you here.
Detailed Forum description:
A world of magic and wonders, and a world that had been through many cycles of war and peace. But now, rifts have opened all throughout the world, people creatures and objects have started showing up everywhere, originating from unknown worlds and dimensions. What will happen now?
The world is made up of four large continents and a smaller one. The western most continent is known as Terranaus. The Eastern continent is Taleron. Between these two is the tiny continent of Aquanas. North and south both hold massive polar continents, but only the northern continent, Ordinan, is inhabited by people.
The nations are:
Banador: A nation extremely proficient in the use of magic, the only nation to have a university entirely focused on the training of magic users. They were once people of the nation of Aladia, until a large war that divided the nation. The Banadorians originally few in number, fled across the sea to Taleron. Located on the Eastern shores of the Taleron
Aladia:A massive empire nation that spreads across northern Terranaus as well as its eastern shores, which it conquered after the Banadorians left. They are a people with some fear and superstition toward magic, though withen the last 40 years this has lessened and they started letting magic users into their bourders to try and keep up with the magical advances of other nations. They are skilled in the development of castles, siege weapons, and armor.
Liberterra: A nation started by skilled inventors, their nation consists of two twin flying cities, held up by enchanted stones and mana powered propellers. The founders Oran and Tellos were genius inventors, but wanted to escape the wars and oppression often seen in the world, so they invented the airship, then as their crews got too large, they finally invented the flying cities, named after the brothers.
Cilinare: A people native to the northern forests of Taleron, they have build their cities high in the treetops of their forests. There has been some trouble between then and the Banadorians, mostly over how they treated the trees, nothing large has yet to ensue. They are skilled woodsmen, highly proficient in skills of the bow.
Aquanas: A nation built up over the small land mass of the same name. They have a massive trade ring as their placement has made them a very easy port to get to. They have developed massive fleets of ships. Possibly the most well built ships the world has known.
Torina: This nation was developed on the western grasslands of Terranaus, later they sent people to settle on the western grasslands of Taleron. They are skilled horsemen and a nomadic people.
Dentas: A nation hidden in the mountains of Taleron. They are a people suspicious of most outsiders, they are however, one of the richest nations due to their many interconnecting mines, they are also highly skilled blacksmiths and goldsmiths.
Arona: A nation developed in the great central dessert of Terranaus, Their people rely on the Anotora river as a source of life, all their towns and cities are built along the river side. They rely heavily on river boats and desert animals. They are also the only nation to have built aquaducts.
Oleyan: It is unclear when their people came to Ordinan but the Oleyans build their nation in the northern portions of the Ordinan Forest. While they are skilled woodsmen, they are the only people to develop a way of living in the polar north.

Ooh, sounds right up my alley! Good idea, Cain. *hi-fives*
Have you thought about races yet?

Races will be player submitted and approved by me or any co-moderator I might take on. ((Humans will be available by default))
The rule set I have worked up so far are designed to create growth in character ability over time, but unfortunately it means slightly more work for me and the occasional application by the players, but it should result in people of the same rank and level being on more equal ground so strategy and skill become more important.

I like it. It gives me a setting that I could finally throw Devin into... Devin the elf who had no skill at anything. lol, his skill is actually in the ability to bluff and pretend, so he can pretend to be anything very convincingly, but he can't do it for real.

I may not be the most well rounded writer, knowing I wouldn't use it, but I do belive a lot of others would and thats what counts. Reading about it, sounds like it's been thought very carefully so definitely a thumbs up. *Does thumbs- up*...*feels like a tiny person...begins to back away*.

Yeah, I'm a loser. I was totally gonna submit an idea for a race, but I failed. I'll (try to, maybe) get back on that, but I'm very busy so it may not happen.
I still love the forum idea, though!
