A Shifter's Quest

[Caer Ibormeith]

Queric was on the move again. He had been adventuring since Careqaa had finally figured out how to let him go. It had been a sad departing, since Careqaa had sacrificed herself for his freedom. He had heard from Azi that she had been reborn as Caer Ibormeith, but it still hurt to think that the lovely woman his soul had been bound to for countless millennia had died.
He pushed his black hair out of his face, it was long and he usually tied it back, but today was so nice that he decided to let it hang loose. His thoughts wandered as he played with a blood red strand that hung in his eyes. I wonder where Shadow Star is? He still hadn't confessed to her, and she had left under a request. She had tried to retire as an assassin, but one never fully retired until they were dead.
He sat down on the hill, under a tree and stared out over the gently rolling emerald green fields. A nap would be nice in this shade. He took off his shirt and laid down on the cool ground and closed his eyes.

Syndil was wandering exploring as usual where that was just her nature she was shapeshifter after all. Of course right now she was traveling in her favorite form....her light gray and white furred wolf. she walked so confidently tall that one could tell easily she'd plenty of experience in her life. When you left your family at 8 and have been venturing by yourself for 16 years you tend to know a few things. She was no exception to that either.

Syndil walked through the grass in the field not far from the man and didn't worry about the noise she made because she had a feeling he was no threat. she heard the sound of a rabbit moving and crouched down low sniffing for the creature ready to pounce on it. when she saw it though she stood up a bit upset to see it was just a little one not worth killing.

Out of Nowhere a girl appeared and tackled to man. Shadow Star had missed Queric more than she had hoped she would and she couldn't help but attack him in a hug. "I missed you!!!"

Queric let out an 'oof' of the tackled man and pushed her back enough he could see her with his crimson eyes. "Sh-Shadow?!" He pulled her close to him again. "I missed you so much."
He sensed the wolf and tensed slightly. He looked over and smiled at it. "Oh, hello." He slightly shifted his ears and teeth to show that he, too, could become a wolf.

she perked up hearing the sudden noise from the new girl and she looked over at them. Syndil saw him shift his ears and teeth and barked a little at him wagging her tail. it made her kind of happy finding someone else who was a shapeshifter. she walked to them somewhat slowly not wanting to jump the girl. she still kept her confident walk regardless holding her head high and her tail relatively relaxed.

Shadow just rested against Queric. She was exhausted. She saw the wolf and smiled. "Aww cute puppy." It was all she could manage to say.

[Caer Ibormeith]

Queric changed his ears and teeth back to normal. He stroked her hair, "Where have you been, Shadow? I've been searching for ever since Careqaa...l-let me go." She would remember that it was impossible for Careqaa to do that, and keep her own life.

she noticed the girl's reaction and walked normally up to them. Syndil sat next to them but in a way that she was facing them. once she sat she closed her eyes and soon turned into her human form. She sat there with her light brown hair coming down to her chin and hanging around the edges of her eyes emphasizing her silver eyes. even though she was sitting down she looked to stand about 5'6 or7" tall and seeming to weigh 125 pounds based on how skinny she was."Hello....I'm Syndil Dara it's nice to meet you two and especially another shapeshifter." She smiled at them as she spoke.

Shadow Star just sighed and pulled back slightly running a hand across Queric's cheek. "Once and assassin always an assassin till death." She gave him a half hearted smile. "Hi, I'm Shadow Star. Shadow or Star or moron. . .I've been called them all before." She shrugged. "And he's a good puppy." She winked over towards Queric.

He clicked his slightly pointed teeth at her playfully. "Careful Shadow...you remember I bite, right?" He smiled at her and nodded to Syndil. "I'm Queric Rgedsaq."
