Topsy-Turvy

[Apollo]

I woke up and Jesse and Jack were looking down at me."Did something happen?" They nodded. "Did I. . . .Pass out?" They smiled and nodded again.
I sat up and saw my shadow looking at. . .yes I said it. . .it was looking. . .at me. . . "What the. . ."
"I'm what's called a guardian. . ."
"Oooooookaaaaay. . .and what's that?"
This time Jesse answered my question. "He's here to protect you. That's how you can stop this from happening and no one else can't."
"But wouldn't any one from my world. . . won't there shadow do the same thing?"
"No they would die."
"O. . . .well that's nice to know. . ."

[Apollo]

"Think of it this way. . .your still livin'. . .if Jack had picked the wrong person they would have flwon to the sky and splatted. . .good red spot for all eternity." I looked at the thing standing above me. It was like any other shadow but not on any walls.
"We'' your just a ball of. . ."
"Sunshine? No. . .Heap of magic more like it. . . see somewhere down your line someone from this world came to ours and had a kid. . .this kid was your. . ."
"Ancestor?"
"Yeah. . .you got it"
"Well I think that was my great grandmother. . .every one said she wasn't right in the head. . .always sayin' buildings were the wrong way and that upside was more fun." I thought more about this before I thought of a good question. "So. . .if she was from here she didn't have a shadow?"
Jesse nodded and explained. "Your right she wouldn't. But, people would either just think it was weird or their eyes were like. . .not working right or something."
"Yeah true. . ." I stood up and dusted myself off. "I still don't like this whole thing."
"Ya don't have ta like it ya jus' gotta do it nimrod."
"And your mean you know that?"
"No one said I had to be nice." I rolled my eyes at my own saying.

[Apollo]

A week went by and I was shown around the world known as Topsy Turvy by me and others as . . .well something hard to pronounce. And, of course, just when I thought this would be easy I was shown it wasn't. We were a a store buying some food that looked like and inside out lobster and you only ate the shell, there seemed to be an earthquake. "What the heck is that?"
"I belive that's called an eathquake." Shadow said. Since people weren't accustomed to my shadow he would hide under my feet while we were out and talk to me, jesse and Jack inside our heads.
I figured that. . .
"Well you asked." I sighed as me and Jesse ran outside to see people running around like crazy and holding on to anything attached to the sky-floor.
"Jesse What're they doing." I looked at her and saw her doing the same.
"This has happened before" The earth shook harder and began to make it hard to hear. "When it happened last time people were lifted off of the ground and splatted on the sky." I looked up and saw some of the stains.
"Yeah. . . that's not good."
"No really?"
Will you shut up!!!!

[Apollo]

All we could do was hold onto something until it stopped and it fairly quickly and looked as if no one was sent to the sky above. "Well that wasn't so. . ."
"Rocks!" Then we looked up and saw falling rocks.
You had to say something didn't you?
"And you just have to keep talking don't you?" Next thing I knew as we were running and dodging rocks from the heavens my shadow covered my body and my vision went from normal to it having many shades of blue and other than it was black. "What did you do that for? . . . What are you doing?"
You wanted help now here it is. I tried to move to dodge a rock but my body wouldn't move. At first I was afraid but suddenly my legs bent and my body flipped and my right leg went out and pushed it out of the way. My body seemed to be limp like a doll in the air or a puppet.
"What's happening?"
I'm helping you out. . .I'm controling your body.
"Well that's new"
O there's more but we talk about it later. . .

[Apollo]

The rocks stopped shortly and we made it to a safe haven. "So. . ."
So. . .
"What else can we do together?"
Depends. . .
"On what?"
On the situation. . . We can do that thing I just did when it's necesary. But other things I am only capable of doing under certain conditions.
"Well that sucks."
Well get used to it. . .You'll find out what else I can do the longer you stay here.
"your just making me want to stay more just to know!"
. . .I know I shut my mouth after that. . . My shadow was as stubborn as I was.

[Apollo]

We went home and I couldn't help but wonder what else my shadow and I could do. It was amazing to be over here and see everything differently. It was even cooler to know my shadow was like a whole other person.
"Umm. . . Jesse?" She turned toward me. "Jack?" Jack stopped walking and did the same. "Why is all of this happening?"
Jesse smiled, Jack handed her five bucks and I was confused again. "Sorry we had a bet anyways. . ."
"We don't know. . some think our world has just become unstable and it's falling apart. . .some think it's about the legend of the dragon, and those who don't believe either, think someone from the other side came over; since they didn't die. . .it's messing with the balance."
"So my being here could be it?"
"No you were here after it started it can't be you." Jack said with a wave of his hand dismissing the thought.
"So. . .what's the dragon myth?"
"Well. . ." Jesse began. "It says that your world was made on the back of a dragon, and over time he flew away. With one breath in his lungs and a beat of his wings he made this place in his departure."
"That's a big dragon."
"Well no. . .see the world grew. . .like a fungus and when yours grew. . .so did ours. . . "
"Like a mirror world?"
"Yes" Jesse answered. "But since someone is destroying ours it will soon affect yours. . ."
"Well. . .that's happy news." Tell me about it. . .
"You shut up. . ." I said to my shadow.

[Apollo]

Well I don't have much to do now do I?
"Whose fault is that? Find something!" I shook my head, but he didn't argue the point further. Walking along I saw we were in the back yard of the house belonging to the twins. "What're we doing?"
"Well you'r training and we'll laugh when you get hurt. . ." Jesse nodded at Jack's words. To honest aren't they?
"Way to honest. . ."
