At the last instant Kyra moved so fast she was nothing but a blur. The other vampire did as well, so the shot missed by an inch. Kyra didn't have time to deal with the human hunter. She hated them with a passion. They always made her job harder not to mention they killed her kind, both feral and not. And oft times they didn't even kill a feral correctly. Kyra just had to hunt them later and clean up the mess. She had become mist to try and find Demetri who had seemed to disappear. Her senses flared out and she heard a whimper towards the end of the alley. Reforming she crouched down, and removed her sunglasses. Her eyes glowed an eerie violet in the night as her eyes met the red of the feral. He had a child clutched to his chest, blocking any attack from her or the human. Kyra knew she had to be careful. Demetri had no reason to not harm the kid. Instantly not wanting the child to suffer Kyra took control of her mind and kept her still and calm. The child seemed to enter a trance. Kyra turned her attention back to the feral. He was an ancient it was true, but then she wasn't just any Hunter. She needed to keep him off guard.
"Playing with your food Demetri? Why am I not surprised it's how I tracked you. You should be more careful. You leave a trail of bodies that are easy to find."
D:"Hear her heart beat Kyra? There is nothing like the taste of fear to make their blood so much more sweet."
"Thanks but I'd rather not."
D:"Why is it we can no longer sense the demon in you Kyra? Have you lost your edge?"
Kyra's smile was that of a killer, cold and emotionless.
"Perhaps because I learned how to get rid of it without harming others or taking away from my abilities."
D:"Pity. If we had added you to our ranks it would have been a welcome addition."
"Unlike you and yours I do not betray my King. I have my honor."
The vampire growled angrily his hand tightened on the child's neck. Kyra didn't look. She couldn't let the child distract her. With an ancient like Demetri it could get her killed. She'd never understood how humans were able to kill her kind, then again her kind underestimated them.

A burst of gunshots flared out from the other side of the darkness, aimed into the sky and roaring on the end of the thunder wake. A figure in black stood at their origin, no more than a shadow in the darkness of the night, a smoking gun in hand. The rain dripped down onto him and off of him, and he removed his sunglasses, slowly raising his red eyes to glare down the alley. A low growl emitted from the silhouette, and it raised a Tech9, leveling it at the human hunter.
He had given a warning shot, but he knew he was no match for an ancient. Nor would he risk the life of the hostage the ancient had. The human hunter would be a nuisance though, and had to be dealt with.

At the first roll off thunder Samual heard it and tilted his head while slowing his pace. It hadn't sounded quite right to his trained ear. Most would have probably issed it, but it was too sharp not the steady roll. Then came the other shot, Sam broke out into a run.
In his head Sam grumbled to himself. It would be just his luck if some other hunter was already on the spot scaring them off. Heck the person would probably be new to the job too.

What the heck is going on? MariAnne wondered silently. Her trembling fingers tightened around the gun in her hand.
Peering hard into the darkness, she noticed another person hidden in the shadows. A small figure.
"No!" MariAnne gasped. The dangerous-looking male had his hands around a child.
Unwelcome memories swamped MariAnne's mind instantly - memories of Issie's abduction. Wrath overwhelmed her as she realized that this kid was probably in the hands of a vicious vampire.
Blinded by fury, MariAnne unlocked the door and stepped out into the pouring rain. Caution and reason were tossed into the wind before she took her first step toward the vampires.

The chorus of gunfire nearly threw David off, distracting his attention for a wavering second from the innocent who’d become tangled in the mess. His second gun was in his hand in the time it took to flinch, the sights trained on the source of the latest frustration.
Typical. Were times so hard that slayers fought one another for their prey?
The man cocked his head at the situation, regarding this new head ache. Couldn’t blood-suckers leave the slaying of their kind to the humans? There was too much bias when vampire hunted vampire. His eyes went back to the hostage, blinking away the rain water as he did his damnedest to ignore the gun aimed for him. “You must realize that killing that girl isn’t going to change the outcome of this situation.” The heat from his breath rose into the air, dissolving.
Before he could advance, however, his ear caught the activity of yet another body. A female voice. The loading of a gun. From the other direction, the plod of hurried footsteps.
Yes, times were hard. One vampire. Five slayers.
Maybe it's time to move to a new city.

OOC: Wait...what? I thought there were two vampires. I'm confused!
BIC:
Once MariAnne reached the group, she stopped in her tracks and pointed her gun at the vampire who held the girl.
"Drop her or I'll shoot!" MariAnne cried.
The moment those words left her mouth, the realization of the folly of this adventure came crashing down on her.
There were six people here, two of whom were vampires.
She had a gun, but she knew that wouldn't be enough to take out a vampire. She wasn't even a good shooter.
Yes, she had a black belt, but would that be enough against six people if they decided to attack.
Suddenly, MariAnne began feeling very, very small. But she stood her ground. Prayed that her face didn't betray her emotions and kept the gun held high.

Kyra growled at the addition of another human. Could this alley get anymore crowded. You'd think there was any army of ferals instead of one.
"Shut up human."
D:"Yes human shut up. If I want to drain the child's sweet blood you can't stop me."
Kyra couldn't afford Demetri to become distracted. Despite what he thought she held him in her stare. She dropped her voice another octave.
"Let me have the child Demetri."
She become seductive, sultry. The vampire's eyes blazed redder.
"If it is as you say and the child's blood is sweet I would like a taste."
She inched closer, her voice distracting the vampire. He had loosened his grip slightly. When she was close enough she made her move. She was a blur of movement. Her hand grabbed the one around the child's neck, crushing fingers into pulp. Demetri howled instinctively releasing the child. Kyra took a blow from his claws along her arm. He streamed into mist causing the Hunter to curse. She grabbed the girl and leaped back. She quickly inspected the child for any damage then placed the child behind her against a wall. Demetri would be unable to get her without going through Kyra. She kept her senses flaring, searching for the vampire.
"Matt he's an ancient and he's high from a recent kill. Watch his claws they are poison tipped."
She knew Demetri was still there. She couldn't sense him. There was no sign of mist so he'd chosen another form. Her eyes scanned for anything out of the ordinary. Damn the poison was weakening her. Poisons as a rule couldn't kill her kind, but they could cause damage and without being able to take the time to heal it would weaken her.
"Keep on eye on that murderer too I can smell the blood of innocents on his hands. And do try and not let the humans shoot you. It hurts like hell."
She couldn't communicate with him telepathically. They had never exchanged blood. That would need to change.
ooc: technically there is three. kyra, demetri, dungeon's character matt.

ooc: Yeah. I meant one feral.
Actually, there are WAY too many slayers here. Have fun. I'm gonna split.
bic:
Something akin to a growl emerged from David’s throat. He dropped his stance, returning one of the firearms to its holster as he backed away from the scene. Too many blood-suckers at once. His eyes rose to the young woman on the approach. So many slayers. He’d have to be more careful about his informants from now on. “If I were you I’d pack up and go,” he grunted to her, backing towards his truck. “Let them kill each other. It won’t take long.”
