Inside the vault looked to be another small library. And it was. The first had been on the magic of blood manipulation, inside the vauld were a collection of books on the dark arts and blood sorcery. He didn't read them, never wanted to have anything to do with them, they were there for when all else failed. His last contingency plan.
Having his constuct of blood put down the books he selected one of the oldest and most worn looking and had it pull it out and open it away from him. Once could never be too careful with these things. He then slowly went along the ranks of the books on the shelves and selected on out. It was in truth the only one he had read. It was on the basics an theory of blood sorcery, the way one went about the exchange and sacrifice to fuil the dark magics. He oened it then had the construct bring the first book over so they were layed before him for him to look over and read through.

Jade was right. He now picked up the scents of the intruders as well as Mikal's own odor.

"I have no idea," Ben said, continuing through the darkness, searching every nook and cranny. There was another door at the end of the room. Ben broke it down and shuffled into another long, eerie corridor.

Where are you, kid? he wondered. You've got some guts, I'll hand ya that.

Jade tilted her head at the sound of a noise. It sounded like a yelp. Her head moved swiftly to the side and glanced at another closed door. It led to an indoor gym for the kids to play in. She went to the door and pushed it open quietly. She heard it now. The room was slightly soundproofed but with the cracked door she could hear the sounds of a chase and another yelp.
M:"Grab him."
M2:"He's quick. Damn it. He bit me."
M:"Well get him. We could use him as an experiment."
Jade growled and looked at Ben> She put a finger to her lip. They didn't know the numbers in that room. Jade had detected two voices but the scents were harder to distinguish.

Kyra slowed her heart rate and breathing to consume as little blood as possible. She had not fed well this night. She would need to put herself into the vampire sleep this body required. Closing her eyes she stopped her heart and her breathing and slept.

Ben glared ahead, ears trained on the events occurring in the indoor gym. Were they hurting Mikal? A slightly suppressed, low growl escaped his lips, and he widened the entrance to the gym, peering inside the cracked doorway.

M2:"Got him. Owwww."
There was the sound of a growl.
M2:"Damn mongrel bit me again. Shit."
M1:"Hold it still."
There were two men inside. One was holding Mikal the other held a syringe that he was getting ready to inject into the boy.

Ben crept further into the room, and within a fraction of a second of listening he realized what was happening. With another growl, he bolted ahead, making up his plan of attack on the way.
