Melody blinked at him. What is the matter? My ankle feels like it's on fire, and he's asking what's wrong? She sniffed and shook her head. She removed her hands from his shoulders and wiped her eyes. She didn't want a near-complete stranger worrying about her when her own family didn't give a damn.

I felt the ankle one last time and guessed that it was that she was crying about. "If it's about your ankle then it will hurt for a while but it will go away eventuallly. We need to find a place to put it in."

I set Melody down gently. I felt around for something she could rest her ankle on and have it elevated. I had no other choice. I sat down carefully, leaving my knees up and had her use them to keep her ankle up.

Melody was shocked at how gentle he was. She wasn't quite sure what he was trying to say but it seemed like he wanted her to use him the prop her ankle up. She wasn't sure, so she didn't move at all, but just watched him.

Melody nodded...then mentally smacked herself. Remember, he can't see...She took his hand and squeezed it in a yes. She closed her eyes and just relaxed for a moment. She'd miss anything he'd try to say, unless he caught her attention first.
