13 showed up in my mind as I thought of my braille. I walked in and tapped on the door frame. "Can you read my lips? Tap on the wall if you can." I said in a whisper. I hope I didn't wake her.

Melody saw the person, but what meager light there was came from behind them, so she couldn't see anything on their face.

I stepped in closer and found my seat. Sitting in it I took Melody's hand. Must be asleep. I found a comfy position in the chair and curled up in it and decided to talk to her, well things I might wanna say if she could hear me. "Hey there. You must be asleep. So that means I am talking to myself but o well. It wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last." I sighed.

She squeezed his hand. now that he was closer she could read his lips. "I awake. Why you here?"

I jumped when I heard her voice. "How long have you been awake?" A little embarassed about toalking to her whole I thought she was sleeping.

Melody chuckled. "Not long." She relaxed visibly. I can't believe how relieved I am to have him here. Sh-should I tell him about my chance of being able to hear? She thought about it, I should. If I don't then it would be like I don't trust him. What if he leaves me? I...I don't want to lose him.

OK maybe she didn't hear me then. I relaxed and slouched in my chair. Then I noticed I was still holding her hand. I blushed and hoped she couldn't see my cheeks in this light.

"R-Rain?" Melody looked up at him. "I need to ask you something." She was nervous beyond reason but didn't know what the cause of it was.

I nodded. "OK go ahead, I'm all ears. But I wanna tell you something first. I went with Leo, he was gonna give me a place to stay but I knew I shoulda been here so I could help you the best I could." I stopped and let my head hang before bringing it up. " He wanted to know that if you had your hearing back would I stay with you or would I think you didn't need me anymore. I told him wethere you got your hearing didn't matter, I would stay with you, you still might need help, I know I need it. I would be happy for you but I would still stay, I have no where else to go." I sqeezed the girl's hand and smiled.

"Leo beat me to it." Melody said simply. She put a had to her throat, it was sore from the fever and talking so much. She wasn't used to it, but it was easier for Rain to understand.
