Fallen From Grace

[Aphrodite]

I sat in the car waiting for Sam to get all the information needed. From somewhere inside the building I could hear some girl giggling like a five year old. Man, I hated girls like that. They think if they giggle and bat their eyes guys will drop at their feet.


I pulled my katana out of the back seat and a sharpening stone out of the glove box and started in on the weapon. Whenever I got bored I made sure my weapons were sharp and maintained. Never know when something might come up.


My mind raced around thoughts of Sam. His hair, his eyes; the way he acted and spoke around me. But I couldn't do anything. He was human. It was dangerous for both of us. But part of me wanted to try. To make it work for us.


He may not even feel that way.

[Apollo]

Me and the boy (whose name happened to be Aaron) went into his office which he had not sound proofed for humans and vampires. "So how can I help you Samuel?" He asked me. He's old, maybe 1600's old I thought to myself. I could tell by having him say my whole name. Older vampires had a thing of liking to use a person whole name, it was an old habit.
"Well Mr. Mitchels. . ."
"Please." He stopped me with a raise of his hand. "I like to lose a bit of formality."
"Then I'm Sam andyour Aaron?" He nodded, though I could tell a bit, that he liked Samuel. The older they are the more touchy, 1700's I'm guessing now. "I wanted to talk to you about the problems your area has been having. The vampire council hired me and my two borthers and right now they're probably checking with the police coroner's report." I said, I checked my phone and there was a text saying just that.
"What could I tell you that you may not know?"
"If you think this is a vampire or if the council brought us here because a vampire was killed, wasn't ash, and was high up in command." I told him, all manner of nice and fun gone from my face and business replacing it all.
"I think you know the answer for that, but Jim. . . or Jimmy to most. . . was my Captain for the area's guard, so yes, he was just under my own authority."
Of course. . . no vampire, newborn and pure could have taken a guard captain. "thank you for your time." I smiled and started to leave.
"Who is the girl helping you?"

I sat in the car. Bored out of my mind for what seemed like an hour. I had nothing to do. Every now and then I would glance up at the door, hoping Sam was done and we could get the hell out of here. It made me uncomfortable sitting in a car by myself. Especially since I was carrying weapons with me.

[Apollo]

I was confused for a second, wondering how he knew. But he moved his rolling chair out of the way and I saw cameras on the outside, with her car sitting right in the middle. i couldn't see it very well but he could.
"Rosaline Evans." I said.
He nodded as he thought about it, hands apart and fingers steepled, his thumbs just touching his lips. I looked him over, though as a human he was a twig, since he probably was so old, he would be strong. If he was a pure he would be even stronger. "Alright, well you can go." He waved his hand. "I give you access to all clubs and bars at all times to help with your investigation." He took out a pen and piece of paper. "Look for this symbol, it should be hiddne by either ultraviolet lights or high up on the wall of where we hide." He handed it over and gave him my card.
"My number is the last one, and you can reach my brothers on the other." We shook hands and I left his office to the foyer.
"Hope to see you soon." Cindy said, she giggle again but as soon as I held up my hand, which had my silver ring it stopped.
She's a made vampire. . .silver works every time, I thought to myself as I took the door knob in hand, and walked out.

[Aphrodite]

I sighed and looked over to the door once again. This time, to my relief I saw Sam walking out. Finally. I started the engine and pulled up next to him. I was too impatient to wait for him to walk over.

"So what did you find out?"

[Apollo]

I got in the car and shut the door. "Well me and the sherriff think the same thing. . ." I looked at her. "That it's not a vampire. The only reason the vampire council sumoned us was because of the last dead person. . . it was a vampire but he wasn't in ash form. It was the sherriff's guard captain which means he was really strong." I chewed my right thumb trying to think. "He gave us permission to check out the clubs and bars he has. They'lll have this symbol."

I looked the symbol over. "Huh. . . Learn something new every day don't you." I said to myself.

[Aphrodite]

"So? What? We go to every club and bar in town and look for that symbol? Interrogate the people there for answers? Or maybe we go out in the woods and look for signs of who or what is killing all those animals. Oh wait I have and idea. We could split up. You take the bars and clubs and I patrol the woods."

[Apollo]

I stopped my in my train of thought. "Whoa whoa whao. . ." I looked at Rosaline. "Why do I get the bars? What have trouble among your vampire peers? You may be able to track but I'll be the one to know what it is because of all the sh. . ." I stopped myself, Swearing is not the answer.
". . . the crap my brother's and I have hunted and taken down." I shook my head. "Besides if we stick together we're more intidmidating." I said, slouching in my seat.

[Aphrodite]

I sighed in defeat. I knew there was no arguing with him. I stared at the road ahead of me.

"Look, you're right. I do have trouble with other vampires. I have trouble with everyone. And you're not the only one whose dealt with creatures and beasts. For a while now I'm the only one who has kept this town safe. Until recently I had no problem. When that pure or whoever they were turned up dead, I was scared for once. I didn't know what to do."

[Apollo]

I patted her leg, while I kept thinking what could have killed like it did. "s'ok, we'l catch it." I said still thinking. After a couple of minutes though I realized that my hand was still on her leg. I took it off as soon as I noticed, and pretended it had never happened.
