I grabbed her hand and led her to the passenger seat. "And what would be faster than car." I started it up and spun out before getting away.

She grabbed a hold of the door handle, but he was going too fast. The minute he stopped she would be out of the car. The monster needed to be able to follow her. He would leave the children alone. She glared at the man beside her.
''There are laws against kidnapping.''

"And hit and run for which you were about to leave." Every time I looked into the mirror of my car I didn't see anything yet... "What is that?" I rubbed the back of my neck to try to put the hairs down but they wouldn't go. "Is. . ." The next thing I knew I felt my car rumble as if it was hit. "What in god's name?"

She reached out and put her hand on the dash as she turned her head and looked at him.
''Being near you is dangerous apparently.''
She needed to get out of here. She had to make sure the monster didn't lose interest in her.

I prayed I was far enough away and stopped the car, hard. I checked all of my mirrors and didn't see anything close by. "What the. . .?" If I wasn't sitting in my car at that time, I would not have believed all that had just happened. "Well you want to leave so badly you can go right ahead and do that." I looked for her, having lost sight of her in a second.

She started to undo her seat belt. Blood coated her hands making the task difficult.
''You're more dangerous than the world outside. How many things are you going to hit tonight with your car?"

"But there's noth. . ." Out of nowhere someone hit me on the side of my face and I was knocked out, the world went dark and when I woke up. . . . I was alone in the middle of the road.

Elizabeth watched the stranger awake from the shadows of a building. She had been leaving when she heard him being hit. She didn't see who had done it. Holding her arm against her chest she waited to make sure he was okay.

I slowly tried to sit up but my body was to stiff from being hit. "Damn it, why is this my luck? huh?" I slowly tried to move towards my car and sit up against a tire and when I did, something started moving. "O boy, please tell me that's a friendly moving thing."
I let my breathing be the only thing I focused on and I stretched my energy our to probe the air, sensing auras from people in houses, walking on street close to this one, but for some reason no aura came from the spot where I had thought I had heard the noise. I probed the general area when something made my body shiver as it crossed my outstretched path. "course. . .never good with me is it." I lowered myself down to the ground.
"Piece a sh . . . ugh." I pulled my front of myself underneath the back and reach for my spare key, I wasn't going to be able to get the key from the ignition. Finding its hiding place I finally put in the hole for trunk and let it fly open as something dark came at me, but the trunk hit it instead. "Luck day one." I tried my legs, they were wobbly but they would move. I dug around and finally found my weapon, my crowbar. I hefted it and remembered its feel as I heard the creature (which for some reason I couldn't see) getting up, I did what I could do. I swung and kept swinging.
