and thats bits per second, not bytes, if I remember correctly. so, if my wireless router now transmits at 100 megabytes per second, thats... at least 100,000 times faster.
I downloaded this little thing called the anarchists cookbook (self-explanatory) and it took me five weeks. each page took about four hours, as long as the connection didn't hiccup partway through, cause then you'd have to start the page over from the beginning.
hell, a 40 x 30 brick ANSI drawing usually took a few tries to upload, so on average it was actually a few hours too. 16bit imaging, too. none of this fancy hexadecimal coding for OUR artwork. then again, i think ansi was the first to compress pixels into a brick, cheating it up to 64bit if you had a good enough monitor.
. . . does anyone else feel really old sometimes? damn, I'm gonna go get another glass of prune juice, Matlock starts in ten minutes.
