Weathering the Storm

[Klip Fourwinds]

The door opens and a slender figure is seen in the door way, a heavy down pour of rain can be seen behind her. As she steps into the room she slips off her cloak, heavy with cold water, and boredered with thick mud at the hem. She hangs the cloak on an open peg, and leaves it in the company of a half dozen or so others that have been abandoned to dry while their owners are stranded in the bar to weather the storm.

She makes her way towards the fire, glad to see its warm flames after traveling through the stinging rain. As she takes a seat close to the fire and bolt of lightning lights up the room, followed by earthquake like thunder. She looks around the room looking for both new and familer faces.

A withered face nearly buried in the folds of greasy robes shuddered and entered a more lifelike state. A bony hand emerged from the filthy cloth and gently closed a large, moldy book sprawled on the table
Crispy eyelids blinked redundantly over empty sockets as the mummy-like individual sat up straight, serenaded by the crackling of rigored joints. The soft hum of a large hornet quieted abruptly as he began to speak.
"The rain's a real treat eh? Perfect reunion weather if you ask me."

Meline groaned as she pulled two rather large bags through the door, being especially careful not to jolt them around to much, she pushed her way into Troll Spit and kicked the door closed with a very muddy foot. It was hard to tell that it was even Meline being that her 21 year old self was covered ina series of charred and tattered cloaks all caked in mud. She gently set the bags down before dropping her worn "weather prevention articles" as she called them into the fire (in a way that it wouldn't go out). With a sigh of relief she picked up the bags again nodding to anyone who looked her way...With that she managed to trudge across the floor and beyond the kitchen door where there promptly began ANOTHER fight with Splicy.

[Cain]

"I hate the rain... it puts a damper on everything."
The mumbled complaint slash comment had been issured from a darkened shape on one of the rafters. For those who knew Alphonce his identety would be most given away by his tail which hung over the side like that of a giant fox and his eyes which caught the light of the fire and reflected it back.

His eyes now watched as a gollem marched out of Joe's work room and went about moping up the mud left behind by Meline. It was posibly a bit odd how the 9 foot tall clay monstrosity seemed to move so quietly.

Jal's unmistakable, gutteral laugh cracked through the sleepy ambiance of the bar. The large hornet zipped over to inspect the golem with insectoid zest.

"A golem, mud washes mud eh? Oh, I amuse myself too much."

Klip smiled, glad to see a few familer faces. Jal was a very old friend, from years that had long been forgotten and she had crossed paths with Alphonce a few times in the past.

"Its not so much the rain I mind, but rather the torrential downpour. All of the rivers are flooding and its makeing the roads near impassable. Perhaps this is nature's way of telling me I need rest though" She laughed to herself. "I haven't taken time to rest with a good roof over my head in a good month or so."

She was glad for company, for as she had said, she had been traveling for over a month now with limited social interaction. Though it was very much in her character to be alone, she knew it was not the most healthy of habits to let herself fall into.

[Meline Kana Noriuma]

Meline found herself thrown from the kitchen now harboring scorch marks and a small burn on part of her stomach. She let out an ouch as her head hit the floor and rolled her eyes as she spotted Al.."Always tryin' to scare the customers are ya Al? I think this Storm will be good all in itself.."

Al turned his gaze to Meline a moment.

"No, thats his job."

He pointed to the courned of the bar where Fred appeared momentaily, curled up as if he'd been sleeping. The small fox growled at him before disapearing again.
Al took this time to slip off the rafter and land in a nealing position on one hand. He was just the same as the last time hey'd seen him save one somewhat major change in his appearance. He'd grown a second tail. Moving over to the fire he sat down next to it.

"You know if you wanted to avoid the floods you could just exit the bar to a different world. Though if you havent slept under a proper roof or in a proper bed in a while, I'd sugest staying a while. They have just about anything you could want here. Personaly I stay here because it's the only place I can find that has fireproof sheets."

[Jal-Koon]

"Eh, I used to love a nice monsoon, everything gets all squishy and the miserable weather makes the indoors all the more cozy. Of course, I try my best to avoid excess moisture these days with mold and all."

His brow crinkled into a slight frown as he glanced at the the pyro-prone Alphonce.

"There are things that I've come to fear more than a little fungus, but I'll have to manage. Anyways, Miss Fourwinds it has been far too long. No doubt we have much to talk about?"

Klip looked at Al "This is true, but unfortunately my duties require me to journey back into the rainy country at some point." she turned to Jal "I'm sure. How have you been? I can't say that you and I have crossed paths often enough lately."
