Glowing Creatures

Klip wandered into the Troll Spit, a bar that had essentially become a second home to her over the years. In her hand was a small box with a light glow shimmering off of it. She had the half curious smile of a child on her face, one that she hadn't worn in years. More recentally her face had shown her years of struggle and travel. But today, all of that was gone.

"Hey, come take a look at this! What do you think it is?"

"Its a box. That glows. What about it?"
The voice belonged to Al who was currenly laying on his belly up on one of the rafters. He had taken a liking to it up there, mostly because he tended to stand out with his appearance."

Behind the bar Joe adjusted his glasses, the black lenses hiding his eyes, then motioned to her.
J:"Bring it here and I'll take a closer look."

Klip turned towards Al, "No, the glowing thing is inside the box silly." She brought the box over to Joe. I found it just down the road. It wasn't glowing like this though, not until I put it in the box. I've never seen anything like it." The light from the box was a deep red, and if you were to look at the creature inside of it, you might initially think it was a sprite or imp of some sort, yet it was much to elegant to be either of those. It also was wingless, so very clearly it couldn't be a fairy.

Joe raised an eyebrow at the creature.
"Well now, that is interesting... hmmm have I seen something like that before..."
He turned his mask about so it covered his face and leaned down examining the creature.
"I'm not sure if I've seen one of thse before or not..."
Al sighed and slowly sliped off the rafter then walked over with his hands in his pockers.
A: "OK... it a um... little glowing person."

"I know! Neat huh?"

The glowing creature looked up at the Joe, Al and Klip. She glared at them and crossed her arms. I was clear she didn't want to be there, and even more clear that she took offense at being callled a "glowing person." Didn't these people know how important and powerful she was, even for being three inches tall. As she glared, her glow intensified.

"So you've seen something like this before joe?"

J: "Hmm? Oh sure. She's a one of the fae, one of the types of nymphs.. I think. they come in a variaty of shapes and sizes. It's hard to say which kind she is. Uh by the way, she's not happy."
A: "Uh huh... well how would you feel if some random came by and stuffed you in a box?"

"A nymph huh?" Klip tipped the box on its side so that the nymph could walk out onto the counter. "and I didn't stuff her in the box... I set her in there..."

The nymph walked out onto the bar and dusted off her dress. It was short and made of leaves, definetly not something that a full sized humanoid creature could pull of wearing, but she made it look quite elegant. As she wandered out of the box her glow started to fade. Now you could tell that her skin was a dark woody color, much like that of bark on a tree. She walked to the edge of the bar and looked down. She could tell there was no way out from that side. She looked around in hopes of finding an escape from thse beings. Seeing no imediate way away, she sat, crosslegged, on the bar. As she sat there her stomach began to rumble. She hadn't eaten in a few hours, in fact, she had been on her way to find a mean when this girl had snatched her away from the bush she was hidden in. The thought caused her to start to glow again.

"I think she's kinda cute," Klip said.

A: "Well you did bring her, you saying she came of her own will?" He smurked
Joe tilted his head. "Well at least she doesn't seem to be connected to one a single tree. With one of thier races if you remove them from a tree they are bound to from birth they start to slowly die. Not in a nice way either."

"Well no... she did kinda kick and bite a little as I picked her up." She turned to Joe, "Oh! I didn't know that... I'm glad shes not one of those kind then. She looks kinda hungry though... what do they eat?"

The nymph's ear perked up at the sound of food.

Joe sighed and tilted his head.
J: "That's a good question. I don't know. I tended to only deal with the fae when they were causeing trouble. Which was more often then naught when I think about it. Still I didn't really join them for social matters."
He pulled out his small black book and started flipping through it.
A: "She doesn't talk does she?"
