Birth of a Chimera

[Diana]

Flame turned and looked at him.
"I suppose you wish to accompany me."

Arianna shivered as if cold. Indeed the child was freezing when he touched her, it was as if she'd been thrown into ice.
"Daddy Daerth.......sleepy......."
She snuggled against him, her cold nose pressing into his neck.

[Maliki]

The phoenix gave a light churr.

Bengal held Arianna close, "Let us go home child."

[Diana]

Sighing she moved to ride him.
"Might as well keep me company then."

Arianna opened her eerie green eyes and looked at him.
"Who are you?"

[Maliki]

Bengal smiled, "I am your uncle, I'll be watching over you for a little while... Daerth has some things to settle, understand?"

The phoenix didn't hesitate, as soon as Flame mounted his back its legs pushed up and its body broke free from the ground, launching into the sky in a blaze of fire.

[Diana]

"Mommy went away again didn't see?"
Tears glistened in her eyes.
"She stopped loving me."

Flame held on tightly and glanced back only once to see the child that she couldn't have.

[Maliki]

Bengal held the child close. "Daerth is trying to bring her back."

With that the child fell asleep once more.
