Birth of a Chimera

[Maliki]

Daerth stood in the town square of Nightgale, his hands trembling as he stared up at the moon. In his crimson eyes a fire burned steadily. Citizens of the wasteland passed by him, some nodded in recognition of the royal family. Others continued about their way, completing whatever task they had in mind. Daerth.. had a different quest, Chimera! Chimera! Chimera! Chimera!. Daerth growled in pain as the words slammed his mind again and again. He could feel himself slipping, instinct driving the bird of fire from inside of him. His wings outstretched, knocking anyone too close to the ground. The fire in his eyes suddenly seemed to leap out, covering his face, chest, arms, then wings. His body seeming to meld together before the piercing cry of the Phoenix rocked the city of Nightgale causing an almost instant panic to spread through the people. There was a tremendous flash of light as the fire exploded, the phoenician standing in full glory in the center of the city. Chimera! Chimera! Chimera! Chimera! The bird screamed once again in anger, a searing blast of heat beat down to the ground as the Phoenix flapped it wings.

[Cain]

In the outskirts of town Cain looked up and sighed. He had come looking for Talos, though the note the boy had left him wasn't very specifivc on where in these lands he had been going. Now all cain had to work on was the fact that his son had been going to seek Maliki to chalenge to a sparring duel or something like that. Just thinking about it Cain shook his head. He liked that Talos was showing inititive but that was just getting to plain reckless.
Now looking at the phoenix he sighed again before forming and spreading his wings and flying toward the firey bird.

[Maliki]

Daerth let out another screech as he lifted above the town, looking down and around the city, almost as if the bird were searching for something. He caught a red glow inside of a building, and there, another one. Then he saw a blue glow in the sky, comming towards him. And for some reason this angered the great bird. It let out another cry and gave a huge flap of its wings, gaining altitude it stared at the blue glow that was flying closer. (That would be cain to the bird view) He didn't want the blue thing. He was hunting the red ones. Chimera! Chimera! Chimera! Chimera! The words circled in his mind. Only seeming to further enrage the beast of mythology.

[Cain]

Cain wondered what a phoenix was doing here in the first place and why it was in such a fury, but he continued to fly toward it, picking up altitude.
He needed to keep it from harming the city with its blaze.

[Maliki]

The phoenix folded its wings and dove almost straight down towards the city. Inches from the ground its wings unfolded, killing a few innocents and catching a building on fire as it bolted through the street, suddenly lurching back upwards into the sky towards the glow that it didn't like. Screaming a cry of challange to the other creature in the sky. The bird was fast, it was only a few second from the time it had dove till the point where it was flying towards Cain. Loosing speed, of course due to the climb, but it had gained plenty from the dive.

[Cain]

Cain frowned, this wasn't good, as things were now fighting the bird head on would leave him with one heck of a well done tan. This was probably one of those times when he probably should have though ahead more...very well...time for a change
He folded his wings around himself and started plumetting, though as he did so the feathers one his winds seemed to melt away as the wings turned leathery. His whole body grew in mass before he unfurled his wings again now a large read dragon. He wouldn't be able to dish out the flames to do with the form, but atleast the scales could defend him some. There was one other noticable thing, his sword and bucklers had changed with him and now the bucklers were like giant bracers on his forelimbs while the sword was bladed extentions chained to his front right tallon.
He was now speeding quickly in a dive to meet the Phoenix's accent.

[Maliki]

The bird folded its wings and turns onto its back, floating for a moment it would seem, looking up at the dragon. The blue glow had turned into a green one. It still wasn't the one that he wanted. And for some reason this further infuriated the phoenix. It began to fall while upsidedown, looking upwards at the dragon as it plummeted. It seemed almost as if the bird were waiting for something. But what?

[Cain]

Cain spread his wings slowing his decent while the Mask of Mirrors formed over his eyes. This bird wasn't acting how he expected it to and he wanted to know why.

[Maliki]

Just above the down suddenly the bird started to flap its wings. While still upside down it mannaged to move its wings in a manner to keep it hovering upsidedown, staring at the dragon. It was analyzing. Calculating. Proportioning the dragon to itself. It was only a matter of seconds that this lasted before the bird turned and coasted out of the town. Headed towards.. who knows what. In the pitchblack sky the bird of fire stood out like a sore thumb.

[Cain]

Cain wondered what the bird was doing. It definately wasn't normal, but he couldn't just let the bid have time to deside it wanted another go at the town. So it was he flew after it, but he remained back some.
