Killer Instinct

[Maliki]

Maliki stood alone, his cloak danced with soft wisps of wind as he looked out over the wasteland. He was alone now.. ~As I should be...~ He thought silently to himself as he looked down at his half human paw. Though the fur appeared clean and untouched Maliki could see many hidden bloodstains upon his pelt. ~People around me get hurt... at least alone. I can take on the curse without regard for others.. without having to worry about protecting someone.~ There was a small surge of power and something flashed through Maliki's mind... thoughts of evil. He growled and shook his head. Emerald eyes closing as he ran his fingers through his tigers mane, "Get a grip Maliki." He ordered himself. He was overlooking an old fashioned village from his hidden ridge, in there was a man who could lead him to Alpha, Alliance... and the source of his families curse...

"This time, I go alone." An amulet Maliki wore around his neck began to glow an eerie red, out of habit he shuffled it behind his cloak. "Let my heart lead me to him." He raised his hood, folding his enormous red wings around his shoulders and began walking down the embankment towards the settlement.

[Veritum]

Wilhelm Tivonte lay against a tree by the side of the road leading to the small settlement. He would have walked all the way to it, but traveling for days with little food and hardly any sleep can take a toll on any man. He snored silently, tightly holding his late father's black katana to his chest. His black hair covering his eyes from the sun while his short sleeved trench coat made a half-assed blanket. He suddenly awoke to the sound of footsteps some ways away. With half opened eyes he tried to see who was coming but due to his hair and the sun he could only make out a silhouette. Wilhelm remained still to try and keep the illusion of slumber.

[Alexi]

"You should know better by now Maliki.....you are never alone."
Illyria leaned against a tree to the right of him. One moment she hadn't been there, then she had. She was like that though. Appearing when he least expected it. The war with the Primals had taken their toll on her though. Where before she had a healthy tan, now she was pale almost sickly. She had always had an athletic build but now it looked like she had dropped 20 pounds, weight she couldn't afford to lose. Her eyes had an almost dead quality to them, as if she had given up on life. In truth the ancient was tired. She would admit now that she'd rather be back imprisoned and asleep than in this world. The only person she counted as a friend was Maliki, and she saw him more as a little brother in need of protection. This life was nothing like it had been before. Before she'd been worshiped by thousands, her every need and whim seen to. Now she was lucky to be tolerated. She pushed off the tree and moved towards him. One last fight to ensure Maliki's safety then she was done. She was tired and lonely though she'd never admit it. It was time for this ancient at least to end.
"I assume we are going after that man."

[Maliki]

Maliki stopped when he heard Illyria's voice. To his left was a sleeping traveler, to his right. An ancient demon with which Maliki had fought through many battles. "I don't need any help this time." He spoke softly to her, noting the weapon carried by the traveler. He sighed softly, looking down at his paw again he gave a small laugh, "Never alone... that is another curse I bear." He looked up towards the sky, emerald gaze peering from cloud to cloud. It didn't take him long to accept him companions company, as he had done before, "Not going after this man, exactly. But trying to find him. I fear he may be an innocent bystander that just acts as a go between.." He looked back towards the village, clenching his fist. "I feel Alliance is somewhere down there.. with him." At that moment Maliki felt a surge of power, he looked over his shoulder with a growl, "Illyria, Maliki Alpha is on his way." As he spoke he turned, in the process of shuffling his stance his plated boots bumped the travelers leg.

[Alexi]

Illyria moved to stand beside him. Her steps were slow, measured.....as if she was making sure not to take more than was necessary.
"Well let's do this then."
The sooner she died the better.

[Veritum]

Wilhelm looked up at the being that had kicked him, whether or not it was on purpose he didn't know, "Ahem, yes?" he asked Maliki. Wilhelm's silver crucifix began to glow dully with a white light, though it seemed he himself did not take notice of this.

[Maliki]

Maliki looked down at the traveler with a light growl, "It would appear sir you've found yourself in a tainted situation." He looked up towards the sky, holding his paw out before him and outstretching his great eagles wings a broadsword appeared within his grasp. He released a roar and launched himself into the air. There was an explosion of sound that crackled through the valley as Maliki met with an unseen force, it was not but a moment before he came into view. Maliki Alpha, his bastard sword lay blade to blade against Omega's in the mid air. It was Omega that spoke, "What is it about this curse you and Alliance don't want me to know?"

[Veritum]

Wilhelm's gaze, which was practically a look of wonder, followed Maliki as he soared into the air only to clash with a temporarily unseen force. The young traveler could not find his voice as he simply stared at the two beings who were blade locked in the air above him. This was the first time Wilhelm had seen such wondrous things ever since leaving his home in the Kingdom. Attempting to gather himself he got to his feet and took a step back into a low ready stance with his hand on the hilt of his sword, hoping he would not have to fight with such an obviously powerful foe.
